Most firms advertise a figure they cannot back up. Everything on this page comes from our own shift records: 919 shifts worked between 6 August and 20 September 2026. These are takings before commission, fuel and insurance, and drivers are self-employed, so what you earn depends on the hours you choose.
What each day of the week pays
Average takings per hour logged on, and the takings on a typical shift. You choose which days you work.

Nights that start between 10pm and 5am average £24.73 an hour, evenings £21.68 and daytime £21.15. Saturday evening is the best-paid time of the week at £30.24 an hour.

When the work is, and when you would be out
Darker means better paid. Hours after midnight sit on the next day’s row, so Saturday night at 1am shows on the Sunday line.
This is still not your profit. Commission, fuel, insurance, your vehicle and your own tax still come out of the figure above. What you earn depends on the hours you choose and how the week falls.
Half of our driver-weeks land within about 10% either side of this estimate. It is a middle figure, not a promise — some weeks are better, some are worse.
How it works
- You are self-employed. You choose your days and hours and log on when you want to work. There is no set rota and no minimum.
- Work comes to you through the system. Cash, card, app and account jobs, around 1.5 an hour on average.
- Commission starts at 20% and reduces once you take more than £300 in a week, so the more you work the less you pay. Fuel, insurance and your vehicle are yours.
- You are paid on demand. Money owed for card and account journeys is paid whenever you need it. You never wait a month for your own money.
- We show you your own figures. Every driver can see what their shifts and jobs are paying, week by week.
What you need
- A Private Hire driver licence from Epping Forest or Uttlesford District Council
- Or a Hackney Carriage badge from any council in England — no badge swap needed
- A licensed vehicle and private hire insurance

How these figures are worked out. Every hour of every shift logged between 6 August and 20 September 2026 was matched to the fares earned in that hour, giving an average for each hour of each day of the week. The calculator adds up your chosen hours at those averages. Log-ons under 90 minutes are excluded. Takings are fares before commission, fuel, insurance and running costs. Drivers are self-employed and nothing on this page is a guarantee of earnings.
